Getting Started with Compass

Veratix Compass is an AI-powered marketplace intelligence platform that monitors your sales channels, detects important changes, and gives you actionable insights so you can make smarter decisions faster.

This guide walks you through the essentials to get up and running.

What Compass Does

Compass continuously monitors your connected stores and sales data to:

  • Detect signals — pricing changes, demand shifts, inventory risks, listing issues, and competitive moves
  • Forecast demand — AI-predicted unit sales to help you plan inventory and avoid stockouts
  • Track trends — category-level growth and decline patterns across your product catalog
  • Surface recommendations — context-aware suggestions for what to do about each signal

Step 1: Create Your Account

When you sign up for Compass, you'll create a team account. This is your workspace where all your stores, data, and team members are managed.

  1. Visit app.veratixcompass.com and click Sign Up
  2. Enter your email and create a password
  3. Name your team (usually your company name)
  4. You'll land on your Dashboard — this is your home base

Step 2: Connect a Marketplace

Compass needs to know which stores to monitor. Navigate to Marketplaces in the left sidebar.

  1. Click Add Store
  2. Choose your marketplace platform (Amazon, Shopify, eBay, Walmart, etc.)
  3. Give the connection a name (e.g., "My Amazon US Store")
  4. Follow the platform-specific connection steps

Once connected, Compass begins monitoring that store immediately.

Step 3: Upload Your Sales Data

For the best results — especially demand forecasts — upload your historical sales data.

  1. Go to Data Imports in the left sidebar
  2. Select the data type (Sales History, Inventory, or Product Catalog)
  3. Choose the marketplace the data belongs to
  4. Upload a CSV or Excel file

Compass processes the file automatically. The more history you provide, the more accurate your forecasts will be.

Step 4: Explore Your Dashboard

Your Dashboard shows everything at a glance:

  • At a Glance — how many signals need your attention, what's in progress, and what you've resolved today
  • What's Happening Now — the latest alerts about your products
  • Products to Watch — your best and worst performers
  • Ask ODI — natural language questions about your data (coming soon)

What Happens Next

After you connect a store and upload data, Compass works in the background:

  • Within minutes: You'll start seeing signals as marketplace data is analyzed
  • Within hours: Demand forecasts begin generating for your products
  • Over time: Trend analysis becomes more accurate as more data accumulates

You don't need to check Compass constantly. The system alerts you when something needs your attention.

Use the left sidebar to navigate between sections:

  • Dashboard — your home base with a summary of everything
  • Analytics — category-level trends and performance metrics
  • Signals — all alerts, filterable by status and priority
  • Forecasts — AI-predicted demand for your products
  • Marketplaces — manage your connected stores
  • Data Imports — upload and track your sales data

  • Settings — account, team, and notification preferences
