Analytics & Marketplace Trends

The Analytics page shows you how your products and categories are performing across all your connected stores. Unlike the Dashboard (which focuses on what needs attention now), Analytics gives you the bigger picture.

Trend Summary Cards

The four summary cards at the top provide a high-level snapshot:

Growing Categories

The number of product categories in your catalog that are showing year-over-year growth. These represent opportunities to expand.

Declining Categories

Categories showing downward trends. These may need pricing adjustments, listing improvements, or strategic decisions about whether to continue investing.

Stores Monitored

How many active sales channels Compass is currently analyzing for you.

Action Rate

The percentage of signals you've acted on. A higher action rate means you're staying on top of the insights Compass surfaces.

When Compass has enough data, you'll see two lists:

Categories Gaining Momentum

Product categories where your sales signals show positive year-over-year trends. For each category, you'll see:

  • The category name
  • How many products are tracked
  • How many are showing growth signals

What to do: Consider expanding inventory, adding new listings, or increasing ad spend in these categories.

Categories to Watch

Categories where signals indicate declining performance. For each, you'll see:

  • The category name
  • How many products are tracked
  • How many are showing decline signals

What to do: Review your pricing strategy, refresh listing content, run promotions, or evaluate whether to reduce your investment.

Recent Trend Alerts

The latest trend signals Compass has detected. These are different from regular signals — they focus specifically on longer-term patterns rather than day-to-day changes. Each alert shows the trend type and a summary of what was detected.

Performance by Store

If you have multiple connected stores, this section shows each one with its monitoring status. Use this to verify all your stores are actively being analyzed.

Tips for Using Analytics

  1. Check weekly, not daily. Trends are most meaningful over longer timeframes.
  2. Compare to your own experience. If Compass flags a declining category but you know it's seasonal, use that context.
  3. Act on growing categories first. It's easier to accelerate existing momentum than to reverse a decline.
  4. Use the store filter to isolate performance by marketplace if you sell across multiple platforms.
